Bacteriological Methods for the Analysis of Drinking Water

The objective of this workshop is to provide participants with technical skills and knowledge to perform laboratory procedures for the examination of drinking water. Laboratory procedures include multiple tube fermentation, membrane filtration, chromogenic/fluorogenic, and heterotrophic plate count. Lectures cover sample collection and preservation, methodology, and quality control requirements for the analysis of drinking water. Refer to the list of workshops for workshop dates and fees. Twelve hours of PACE credit and 6 hours of Drinking Water / Wastewater credit will be given for full course participation.

Process Control Chemistry for Drinking Water Laboratories

The objective of this workshop is to provide participants with technical skills and knowledge to perform chemical procedures for the examination of drinking water. The workshop combines lectures and laboratory exercises to familiarize the participants with testing methods used for process control in water treatment plants. The content of the workshop includes a review of general chemistry, safety, sampling, conductivity, hardness, jar test, temperature, turbidity, pH, alkalinity, phosphate, iron, manganese, fluoride, TOC, color, and standards preparation. All workshop materials are included in the fee. Refer to the list of workshops for workshop dates and fees. To apply, each applicant must complete a registration form (PDF, 49 KB). Laboratory Technology Day

Laboratory Technology Day is an annual event designed to bring together different segments of the environmental field. Laboratory analysts will benefit from the information they receive in the technical presentations, as well as from the opportunity to see the latest in technological advances on display by a variety of commercial vendors. This all day seminar is held annually in Raleigh, NC. The registration fee covers all the technical presentations, two breaks, and a lunch. Twelve hours of PACE credit and 6 hours of Drinking Water / Wastewater credit will be given for full course participation.
